Into the Lions Den : Laurain Chaeyune Park

My time at the gallery was made memorable through meeting Laurain. A copyist who’d spent most of her life sitting in the gallery, observing the world and honing her skills. As she moves on into the unknown though a new life in England, she spends some time reflecting with me. Choosing Daniel in the Lions’ Den by Sir Peter Paul Rubens as her last copy before facing new challenges. She says she found it fitting, because as a Korean american, she remembers the proverb

호랑이 굴에 들어가야 호랑이 새끼를 잡는다

You must enter the tiger’s den to catch a tiger cub - You must take risks and face challenges head on to achieve great rewards.

Summer 2025

I spent the summer of 2025 at the National Gallery and spent the bulk of my time in addition to this video working on social media shorts as well as some licensing work for upcoming exhibitions.
